Welcome to Pension Frech
Our family-run, small guesthouse is located between Watzmann and the cultural metropolis of Salzburg, directly at the market square of the idyllic mountain village of Marktschellenberg.
Our pension is the ideal starting point for a variety of activities. Start you day with a hearty breakfast at the buffet while enjoying the view through the panorama window at the mountain you might want to climb later: the Untersberg. Put on your hiking boots and off you go - right from the house!
And if it rains: Use the bus connection from Marktschellenberg to Salzburg. With line 840 you get off at Mozartsteg and can, for example, explore the House of Nature or walk in the footsteps of Mozart in the house where he was born. (Be sure to note: Line 840 also takes you to the Kugelmühle, Almbachklamm, the Grassl Enzian distillery and Berchtesgaden).
In winter it's time to get on the boards, and you don't even have to go far. Experience the 50 kilometers of slopes in our 6 ski areas: Rossfeld Oberau, Dürrnberg, Jenner, Gutshof Obersalzberg, Götschen, Hochschwarzeck. You won't miss out on touring skis either. For beginners, we recommend the Dürrnberg or our snow guarantee the Rossfeld, for the more experienced, the “Kleine Reib'n” (Schneibstein) or the Untersberg would be appropriate, and for experts the Hohe Göll.
End the eventful day with a view of the red-hot Untersberg from our cozy lounge or - in summer - on our outdoor benches.

Everything for your vacation
Each room is individually furnished and exudes a personal and comfortable atmosphere. All rooms have free WiFi, some have a balcony, bathroom with shower / bathtub and hairdryer, blinds, television and a magnificent view!
