Marktschellenberg and the Pension Frech in pictures

1560 first and oldest mention of the so-called Steindlhaus; named after the then owner Georg Steindl (1636). After the demolished house was rebuilt in 1898, the structure of the house has been preserved; only the outer facade and the roof were changed and it was converted into a hotel and restaurant in the mid-1960s. Even Franz Josef Strauss was a guest of the house.

The house has been owned by the Frech family since August 2021. The landlord's mother was born in Marktschellenberg and after he had lived several years on the other side of the Untersberg, the landlord returned to his roots with his own family.
